Azerbaijan`s Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Saudi Arabian Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments have inked a memorandum of understanding within the visit of Azerbaijani Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev to Saudi Arabia.
Garayev participated at the event on declaration of Madina as capital of Islamic culture for 2013.
The event was attended by Head of the Culture and Tourism Ministry Office Firudin Gurbanov, academician, orientalist scientist Vasim Mammadaliyev, Chairman of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, Arif Mehdiyev, as well as Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Rasim Rzayev.
As a part of his visit, Garayev met President of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiques (SCTA), Prince Sultan Bin Salman Bin Abdul Aziz.
Azerbaijani Minister spoke about the rapid development of bilateral relations in the field of culture and tourism between Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia. The Minister also asked to convey Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s greetings to Saudi King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud and Crown Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Garayev stressed the importance of friendship and business relationship between the two countries, stressing that he supported development of relations in tourism sphere.
For his part, Abdullah bin Abdulaziz al-Saud praised Azerbaijan`s cooperation with Saudi Arabian and said he would do his best for the development of relations between the two countries.
