The 4th Gabala International Music Festival officially opened its doors to participants, guests and music lovers.
The festival is held in Gabala, a picturesque region of Azerbaijan, with the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Speaking to the opening ceremony, Farhad Badalbayli, one of art directors of the festival, rector of the Baku Music Academy, and Fattah Heydarov, an MP, congratulated the participants and guests of the festival on behalf of the country`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO goodwill ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva.
They said the festival had made tremendous contribution to promoting Azerbaijan`s cultural values and musical traditions worldwide.
The speakers hailed the contribution of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation headed by Mehriban Aliyeva in preserving and popularizing the country`s musical legacy.
The concert featured performances by the State Symphonic Orchestra after Uzeyir Hajibeyli and the State Choral Chapel.
Conducted by People`s Artist Rauf Abdullayev, artistic director of the State Choral Chapel Gulbaji Imanova and Honored Art Figure Azad Aliyev, the concert included solo performances by Murad Adigozalzadeh (piano), Farida Mammadova (soprano), Avaz Abdullayev (baritone), Sabina Asadova (mezzo soprano)
Gulnaz Ismailova (soprano), and Azer Rzazade (tenor).
The 4th Gabala Music Festival will run until August 5.
