On March 31st President of Kyrgyzstan Almazbek Atambayev and his spouse Raisa Atambayeva visited Icherisheher, the Inner City of Baku.
The guests familiarized themselves with the Maiden Tower built in 7th-6th centuries BC and restored in the 12th century. The Tower, 28m in height and 16-16,5m in diameter, comprises of a cylinder-like real tower and a huge supporting construction.
They viewed exposition of stone exhibits at Syrataghly Religious and Architectural Complex discovered in 1964 during archaeological excavations to the north of Maiden Tower.
The visitors were informed on Icherisheher State Historical and Architectural Reserve, which has been classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
They also walked through "Kichik Gala" street in the Inner City.
The president also visited the Palace of Shirvanshahs built in early 15th century and considered one of the landmark architectural monuments of Azerbaijan.
They also saw workshop of the artist Ali Shamsi.
The guest also visited Mohammed Mosque of world significance afterwards and acquainted himself with newly completed museum-conservation works.
Almazbek Atambayev also met with producer of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation-initiated movie project "Baku, I love you" famous director Egor Konchalovskiy.
The guest was informed that head of the project is Vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, chairperson of the Azerbaijani Youth Organization of Russia Leyla Aliyeva.
Atambayev enjoyed a tea party at the Art Garden, Azerbaijan`s fine, decorative and applied arts centre.
The President was presented a keep sake.
