"Richness of Azerbaijan`s culture" exhibition has opened in Saint Tropez, France, supported and organized by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. The exhibition, which takes place as part of the 2nd Ramatuelle festival of classical music, will last until July 20. The exhibition highlights Azerbaijani carpets, antique copper pottery, national musical instruments and dresses, as well as photos featuring the country`s must-see places.
The exhibition was opened by executive director of the Foundation, Anar Alakbarov, who conveyed to participants the greetings of Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP Mehriban Aliyeva.
Alakbarov said the exhibition was aimed at promoting Azerbaijan`s culture and history. He highlighted the Foundation`s activity, saying it is carrying out socio-economic, educational, sports, cultural and humanitarian projects.
He also said the Ramatuelle festival is held under the patronage of Mehriban Aliyeva and is supported by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
Mayor of Saint-Tropez, Jean-Pierre Tuveri, and mayor of Ramatuelle, Roland Bruno, stressed the necessity of promoting Azerbaijan`s culture worldwide.
The exhibition also features the Heydar Aliyev Foundation-published books and booklets on Azerbaijan`s culture, nature and cuisine. The highlight of the book display is a "Garabagh truths" series, which was translated into many languages, including French.
The first day of the exhibition featured the launch of French-language "Azerbaijan" book.
A dinner on behalf of Azerbaijan`s first lady was given in honor of the exhibition`s participants who also enjoyed a performance by Montreux jazz festival winner Emil Afrasiyab and tar player Mirjavad Jafarov.
