The Russian embassy in Baku together with Azerbaijan State Telegraph Agency (AzerTAc) and Russian Information Telegraph Agency (ITAR-TASS) launched a photo exhibition marking the 88th anniversary of national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Launched at the Academy of Public Administration under the President of Azerbaijan, the exhibition was titled "Russian-Azerbaijan cultural relations in AzerTAc and ITAR-TASS photos".
Speaking to the opening ceremony, first pro-rector of the Academy Alikram Abdullayev praised the relations between Russia and Azerbaijan.
"Our cultural, scientific and art relations have reached today`s level thanks to efforts of national leader Heydar Aliyev."
Russia`s ambassador Vladimir Dorokhin said: "It is very important that the photo exhibition is dedicated to Azerbaijan`s national leader Heydar Aliyev."
The ambassador praised the national leader`s role in developing the two countries` relations.
"There are many photos in the archives of AzerTAc and ITAR-TASS, and these photos cover the relations between Azerbaijan and Russia in a wide range of spheres. But we decided to focus on cultural ties between our countries because culture is of particular importance."
The event also featured the demonstration of episodes of ITAR-TASS deputy director general Mikhail Gusman`s interview with national leader Heydar Aliyev.{nl}
