The second International Mugham Contest has continued in the organ and chamber musical hall of the Azerbaijan State Philharmonic Hall after Muslim Magomayev.
Musicians from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, China and Jordania performed on the second day of the contest held as part of the International Mugham Festival "Mugham World".
Uzbek Jamaladdin Avazov with his family band and Iranian Ahmad Sattari opened the event with "Bayati-Shiraz" and "Karabakh shikastasi".
Azeri performers Babek Niftaliyev and Aytan Maharramova with their composition "Jahargah" and "Shahnaz" admired the audience.
Performances of ancient national songs by a musical band from Urumchi, China and "East-band" ensemble from Jordan aroused keen interest of the audience.
Musicians are evaluated by a jury panel including Azerbaijan People`s Artists Siyavush Karimi, Ramiz Zohrabov, Arif Babaev, representative of UNESCO, professor of the Paris National Centre for Scientific Researches Jean Duhring, Turkish music critic Ozan Yarman, American scientist William Samith and Iranian composer Ehsan Khezrlou.
Musicians from Azerbaijan, India, Morocco, Turkey and Kuwait will perform on Saturday.
The contest will last till Sunday.
