“This year’s Zhara festival in Baku would be even more exciting and fabulous,” said Emin Agalarov, the organizer of Zhara Annual International Music Festival.

“Last year’s festival was wonderful. We knew that the next festival should be even more better. We had yearlong rehearsals, spoke to singers, and made the technical arrangements. Our first guests are already in Baku. If last year we had over 400 guests, this year its nearly 850. We expect a wonderful opening show, Sophia Rotaru’s jubilee, a musical night of Alla Pugacheva. The festival will end with Grigori Leps` jubilee,” he said.

Sergei Kozhevnikov, one of the organizers, said the festival’s first day will see performance of modern and popular hits.

Saying this is his first visit to Azerbaijan, singer MONATIK added; “I’ve heard about your country and Baku a lot. Our music fills people with positive feelings.”

Although it will be singer Glukoza’s first performance at the festival, she has given concerts in Azerbaijan. “I am very happy to be in Baku again. I will perform on each day of the festival.”

Singer Timur Rodrigez said: “My friends from Azerbaijan, Russia and Ukraine say that Zhara is a wonderful music festival. Of course, this festival should grow even bigger.”

“I love Baku so much. My family is also here. They are having vacation on the Caspian Sea coast. My performance will be accompanied by a ballet group. I would also like to thank for the last year’s hospitality,” said singer Anita Tsoy.

The annual music festival Zhara was held for the first time in 2016 and immediately received the status of the most anticipated and extensively discussed summer events. Considering the size of the audience, the festival has become the largest music event in CIS countries.
