South Korea will continue strategic cooperation with Russia on the Korean Peninsula’s nuclear problem, South Korea’s Ambassador to Russia Woo Yoon-keun told TASS on Monday.

According to  ambassador , Moscow "is playing a constructive role in the settlement of the North Korean nuclear problem"

South Korea’s President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met in Panmunjom in the demilitarized zone that separates the two Koreas on April 27. It was the first-ever summit meeting between the South and the North over more than ten years. The two leaders signed a joint declaration on peace, prosperity and unification of the Korean Peninsula.

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov told TASS earlier that the fact that Russia was not mentioned in the Panmunjom declaration in no way meant that Moscow could "fall out" of the process of the settlement of the Korean Peninsula’s problems.
