I am very happy that I have won gold medal for Azerbaijan. The fact that the anthem of Azerbaijan was heard in Rio, has aroused pride.

This was stated by the Olympic champion, taekwondo fighter Radik Isayev at the Heydar Aliyev International airport.

The winner of the gold medal “Rio-2016” has noted that the fights passed tensely. “Especially I want to note the final round. After the victory I have lost sensitivity. I felt very severe pains in my legs. Now, I understand, this victory is how valuable”, Radik Isayev emphasized.

The taekwondo fighter told that he was very proud when the anthem of Azerbaijan sounded: “It is indescribable feelings. To test them, it is necessary to pass all stages and to ascend to the podium. I did not think of gold medal. I thought that it is necessary to return with medal. But has reached the final and has won gold medal”".
