Bosnia come from behind to beat Cyprus and qualify for Euro 2016 play-offs

Bosnia made hard work of their trip to Cyprus but managed to come from behind to win 3-2 and secure the play-off spot in Group B to keep their Euro 2016 dream alive.

On a topsy-turvy night in Nicosia, both sides were at one stage in third place and set to make it through, with Israel also in with a chance as they played away in Belgium. But it was Mehmed Bazdarevic's side who eventually prevailed.

Without their talisman and captain Edin Dzeko, Bosnia took the lead after 13 minutes thanks to Haris Medunjanin's strike, but it did not last for long.

Constantinos Charalambidis levelled the scores for the home side before Nestoras Mitidis put them in front after 41 minutes.

At that stage, Cyprus were in third and set to make the play-offs, but soon Bosnia equalised when Medunjanin finished from close range.

Israel were holding on against Belgium and a goal in Brussels would have put them in pole position to make it to third, but their resistance was finally broken in the 64th minute. Bosnia then took the lead shortly afterwards against Cyprus to put some daylight between themselves and the chasers.

Milan Djuric netted what would turn out to be the winner for Bosnia, to keep them on course for what could be their first ever European Championship appearance.

Israel eventually fell to a 3-1 defeat in Belgium, who topped Group B ahead of fellow automatic qualifiers Wales.
