Azerbaijan`s first lady sponsors Iftar dinner in orphanages in Pakistan

The Pakistan Sweet Home Foundation operating under the secretariat of the Pakistani prime minister has organized an Iftar dinner for 1,200 children of 11 orphanages located in different cities of the country, at the initiative and with the support of Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador Mehriban Aliyeva.
The grandiose ceremony organized in Barah Koh city was attended by Pakistani first lady Nusrat Pervez Ashraf and her daughter, prime minister advisor Shahnaz Vazir Ali, the Pakistan Sweet Home Foundation CEO, well-known politician Zamurad Khan, members of the Pakistani National Assembly, employees of the Azerbaijani Embassy in Pakistan and representatives of leading TV channels of the country.
The event provided detailed information about humanitarian, educational and health projects carried out in Azerbaijan and abroad at the initiative and with the support of the president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, goodwill ambassador of UNESCO and ISESCO, MP and first lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and noted the construction of a school of girls in Pakistani city of Muzaffarabad which suffered from earthquake.
It was also noted that as part of the systematic humanitarian aid program in Pakistan, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation has carried out medical examination and vaccination against HBV, organized a free medical examination for persons in need at the Akbar Kare cerebral paralysis institute, held open heart surgeries in the women and children's hospital of Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, purchased an ambulance equipped with modern blood transfusion equipment and laboratory and 2,000 blood transfusion packages for the Hamza Foundation (Peshawar) and provided financial support for construction of a new building of the Khyber Eye Foundation.
Addressing the event Pakistani first lady Nusrat Pervez Ashraf extended deep thankfulness to Mehriban Aliyeva for the projects carried out in Pakistan and for the iftar dinner organized for orphans in the month of Ramadan, and underlined that this action is a great moral support for inhabitants of the orphanages.
Advisor of the Pakistani prime minister, Shahnaz Vazir Ali, in her address called praiseworthy the large-scale actions organized by Mehriban Aliyeva, and called on other organizations to join this initiative.
Addressing the event, CEO of the Pakistan Sweet Home Foundation Zamurad Khan thanked Mehriban Aliyeva for sharing her Ramadan happiness with orphans.
The event was followed by a concert program. All children received gifts.
The event was in the spotlight of the Pakistani media.
