On July 10th Azerbaijan`s first lady, President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva met head of a mission of the UN Food and Agricultural Organization (FAO) Mohamed Ruiqi. 
The Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s vice president Leyla Aliyeva attended the meeting.
Mehriban Aliyeva highlighted the Foundation`s activity. She said that established in 2004, the foundation had been implementing many projects in a wide range of areas, particularly in the humanitarian field. She said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation had close cooperation with the United Nations, adding they had implemented a number of joint projects.
The Azerbaijani first lady expressed confidence this cooperation would continue.
Mehriban Aliyeva said she believes the visit by the FAO mission would contribute to developing the bilateral cooperation.
The president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation said the government of Azerbaijan was ready to assist FAO.
Mehriban Aliyeva said that being a non-governmental organization, the Heydar Aliyev Foundation was also ready for cooperation with FAO.
She spoke of the Foundation`s cooperation with international organizations, in particular UNICEF and UNESCO.
Mohamed Ruiqi praised the activity of President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva and the Foundation`s vice president Leyla Aliyeva.
They discussed cooperation between the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and FAO`s office in Rome, as well as issues related to food security.
