The Azerbaijani delegation led by Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov was in Russia to attend the 290th anniversary of the Russian Prosecutor`s Office.
During the trip, Zakir Garalov met Russian counterpart Yury Chaika.
The Azeri Prosecutor General congratulated Chaika on the 290th anniversary of the Russian Prosecutor`s Office.
He hailed expansion of relations between Azerbaijan and Russia in all fields including the legal one.
Garalov informed the Russian Prosecutor General on reforms in the social, economic, public and political fields in Azerbaijan under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev.
Yury Chaika underlined Russia attaches special importance to strengthening legal cooperation with Azerbaijan.
He praised relations between the two countries` Prosecutor`s Offices. The Russian Prosecutor General said the two countries enjoy ample potential to deepen these relations.
Chaika added Russia was interested in expansion of mutual cooperation even more.
They expressed confidence these relations would continue to develop.
Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov also met with Secretary General of the International Association of Prosecutors Derk Kuipers, as well as Austrian, German, Ukrainian and Belarus counterpart.
The meetings saw discussions on prospects for cooperation between the countries` prosecution bodies.
The Azeri Prosecutor General met chairman of the Investigative Committee at the Russian Prosecutor General`s Office Aleksandr Bastrykin.
Garalov briefed Bastrykin on the reforms implemented in the Azerbaijan`s General Prosecutor`s Office.
