Library of Azerbaijan`s Presidential Administration donated 153 books in Azeri, Russian and English to Russian Information-Cultural Center (RICC), on Tuesday.
Chief of RICC Anvar Sheykhov told of role of the center in developing humanitarian relations between Azerbaijan and Russia and thanked Presidential library for such action.
Head of the library Mail Ahmadov said these books are mainly devoted to the activity of national leader Heydar Aliyev, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, history, economy, culture and art of the country. The books also include the works of academician Ramiz Mehtiyev, corresponding member of ANAS Yagub Mahmudov, professor Ali Hasanov, Irada Huseynova and others. Mr. Ahmadov also said the library presented 5 electronic databases to the RICC entitled "Heydar Aliyev. Collection of e-documents", "Speeches, interviews, statements of President Ilham Aliyev, "Goodwill ambassador", "Tragedy of the 20th century - Khojaly Genocide" and "Country of fires - Azerbaijan".
Director general of information new agency "Interfax-Azerbaijan" Alexander Ivanov handed over some copies of book on Heydar Aliyev to the center.
Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin said the government of Azerbaijan attaches great significance to maintenance and development of Russian language in the country. Mr. Dorokhin presented Russian certificates to the participants of the seminar organized for employees of Azerbaijani libraries on use of information resources in Russian language.
The event brought together MPs, representatives of the ministries of education, culture and tourism.
