An Azerbaijani delegation led by first Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis Ziyafat Asgarov is on visit to the People's Republic of China.
The visit takes place at the invitation of the National Committee of the Chinese People`s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). The Azerbaijani delegation comprises MPs Siyavush Novruzov, Aliaga Huseynov, Rauf Aliyev and Ali Masimli.
The Azerbaijani delegation met with Jia Qinglin, chairman of the CPPCC to discuss fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and China and cooperation prospects.
The parties stressed the role of national leader Heydar Aliyev`s visit in 1994 and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev`s visits in 2005 and in 2008 in development of the bilateral relations. It was noted that Azerbaijan and China support each other within international relations.
Ziyafat Asgarov briefed on the Armenia-Azerbaijanз Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, thanking the Chinese government for supporting Azerbaijan in this issue. He also spoke about Armenian atrocities against Azerbaijanis in the Khojaly city in 1992.
The first Vice-Speaker of Azerbaijan Milli Majlis also expressed his gratitude to China for erecting Azerbaijan`s poet Nizami Ganjavi`s bust in Beijing.

Azerbaijan`s delegation also met Bai Lichen, Vice Chairman of the CPPCC to exchange views on current position of the bilateral relations. Bai Lichen thanked for hospitality of the Azerbaijani people during his visit to the country in 2012.
Azerbaijani delegation informed about Azerbaijan`s policy in settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
