The possible opening of Turkey-Armenia border does not meet interests of both Turkey and Azerbaijan, Ali Hasanov, chief of the Azerbaijan Presidential Administration's department for socio-political affairs, told the media representatives.
Hasanov noted the opening of border would allow Armenia to take more non-constructive position in the ongoing talks to settle the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He underlined Turkish President Abdullah Gul, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and other officials repeatedly stated that Turkey would not open its border with Armenia until the aggressor liberated the occupied territories of Azerbaijan.
"We believe the Turkish officials` statements, and consider that Turkey will not open its border with Armenia unless the mentioned conditions are met and regardless of demands by NATO, OSCE, Council of Europe or any super state.
