On February 5th IV Congress of the Confederation of Trade Unions of Azerbaijan (CTUA) commenced today at the Heydar Aliyev Palace. The congress is attended by about 1300 representatives of the member organizations of trade unions and trade union organizations of over 40 countries and international organizations.
The congress was opened by the chairman of the Confederation Sattar Mehbaliyev.
Head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev read a congratulatory letter of President Ilham Aliyev to the Congress participants.
Members of the Congress met with applause the warm greetings of the Azerbaijani President.
After the agenda was announced, elected were the governing bodies of the Congress.
Congress participants were also congratulated by the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Natig Mammadov, President of the Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev, representatives of international organizations, the trade unions of foreign countries.
Then, chairman of the Confederation, MP Sattar Mehbaliyev reported on the work done in the period since the previous congress.
