‘Bosnia and Herzegovina considers that Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be settled on basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity’

On February 5th Bosnia and Herzegovina considers that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict must be settled on the basis of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity, chairman of the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina Bozo Ljubic said at a meeting with speaker of Azerbaijan National Assembly Ogtay Asadov.
Ljubic noted settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict would give impetus to development of not only Azerbaijan and Armenia, but also the whole Europe. “We regard that the problem must be resolved on the basis of norms and principles of international law. Official Sarajevo`s position on settlement of the conflict will remain unchanged.”
According to the chairman, House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina has prepared a draft resolution on the occupied territories of Azerbaijan. “Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity is unanimously supported in this document. The draft will be discussed in the near future in the Parliamentary Assembly.”
Ljubic noted Azerbaijan, which is the most powerful country in the region where it is located, is developing rapidly. He added Azerbaijan plays significant role in Europe`s energy security. “Now this country is making investments in economies of foreign countries. We can cooperate fruitfully in agricultural and industrial spheres.”
Ogtay Asadov, in turn, spoke of rapid economic development process in Azerbaijan. He said Azerbaijan was both initiator and direct participant of projects being carried out in the region.
The speaker pointed out Azerbaijan was interested in development of relations with peace-loving countries of the world, including Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Asadov also praised the role of heads of the two countries in expansion of bilateral relationship. He added the visit of Bosnia and Herzegovina`s delegation to Azerbaijan would contribute to boosting ties between the two countries` legislative bodies as well. Asadov pointed out documents signed between the two countries during the visit would create solid legal basis for expansion of cooperation.
The speaker also thanked the government of Bosnia and Herzegovina for supporting Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
