President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin signed a decree on awarding head of Narimanov district local authority Abdin Farzaliyev the Order of Friendship for his great contribution to development of friendship and cooperation with the Russian Federation, AzerTAc reports citing Astrakhan oblast`s official website.
Under instructions of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, Farzaliyev implemented a number of joint projects, which attracted huge investments into the social sector in the region.
The project envisaged rebuilding of the Nariman Narimanov Park in the Narimanov town in the Astrakhan oblast. A monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev was erected in Astrakhan with the park reconstructed. Under his leadership the secondary school named after Heydar Aliyev was rebuilt.
The last year also saw opening of the Russia-Azerbaijan friendship bridge and children`s playground in the Heydar Aliyev park.
Negotiations are underway to develop and implement other joint socially-oriented projects.
With active participation and support of Abdin Farzaliyev, Astrakhan song and dance ensemble made a tour of Azerbaijan in April, Astrakhan and Azerbaijani State drama theaters made exchange tours. He co-organized the Astrakhan-Azerbaijani contest of journalism Caspian Dream-2010.
