On July 12th Speaker of Azerbaijan`s Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov met with Vice-President of the Mexican Senate Francisco Arroyo Vieyra.
Asadov briefed Arroyo Vieyra on the activity of the Milli Majlis.
He highlighted Azerbaijan`s achievements, particularly the country`s large-scaled projects.
The Speaker stressed the importance of expanding and strengthening the relations between Azerbaijan and Mexico.
"Although there is a huge distance between the two countries due to their geographical location, the Mexican House of Representatives`s resolutions is a manifestation of our close friendship."
The Speaker praised the signing of 5 legal documents between the two countries.
"We believe that the documents will play an important role in development of the cooperation in political, economic, trade, educational, and cultural spheres," Asadov added.
The Speaker also expressed gratitude to the members of the Mexican Senate and the people of Mexico for the adoption of the resolutions recognizing the Khojaly massacre as genocide.
Arroyo Vieyra praised Azerbaijan`s development.
He noted Mexico hailed Azerbaijan`s efforts towards achieving a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
The Vice-President of Mexican Senate vowed he would also contribute to opening Mexica`s embassy to Azerbaijan.
