Ministers of foreign affairs of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia got together over a tripartite meeting in city of Trabzon, Turkey, on Friday to assess bilateral and regional developments.

Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov and Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze discussed opportunities to improve cooperation between their countries during the meeting, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry's press service said.

"This tripartite dialogue mechanism, established between the foreign ministers of Turkey, Azerbaijan and Georgia upon our country's initiative, is expected to provide a platform to discuss bilateral and regional issues and to develop an understanding of cooperation on various fields based on mutual benefits," the press service reported.

As is stated, the mechanism also aims at contributing to regional stability and security by creating an atmosphere of sustainable regional cooperation in the South Caucasus.
