On June 7th Kayrat Mami, chairman of Kazakhstan`s Senate, arrived in Azerbaijan`s capital for an official visit.

In his interview to journalists at the Heydar Aliyev International airport, Mami said: "Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are friendly countries. Today, our relations are developing in various fields. Our aim is to strengthen and enhance the existing relations furthermore."

He stressed Azerbaijan is the closest partner of Kazakhstan in the Caucasus region, saying "the bilateral cooperation between the two countries are dynamically developing and the intensity of mutual visits is the striking example of this development".

According to him, the laws approved by the parliaments, both in political and economical fields, play the significant role in developing bilateral ties.

The visit will see the chairman of the Kazakh Senate hold meetings with Azerbaijani officials.
