Azerbaijan`s Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov met Tuesday European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Stefan Fule. The talks in the meeting focused on international and regional issues, particularly settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict as well as expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and European Union. 
Following the meeting Mammadyarov and Fule held a press conference.
Mammadyarov praised EU-Azerbaijan relationship. The minister said his country supports EU`s Eastern Partnership program and actively participates in it.
For his part, Fule said EU highly appreciates positive changes in all spheres in Azerbaijan. The commissioner noted EU intends to expand cooperation with Azerbaijan in energy sphere. He added high-level reciprocal visits contribute to strengthening relations.
Fule also pointed out negotiations had started on simplification of visa regime which would help Azerbaijani citizens to obtain short stay Schengen visa to EU member states.
