On December 21st  Chairman of Azerbaijan parliament Ogtay Asadov met the Mayor of the 7th District of Paris, member of the European Parliament Rachida Dati.
Mr. Asadov said such visits play an important role in developing relations among Azerbaijan, EU and the European Parliament.
He said one of the main tasks of Azerbaijan`s foreign policy is to integrate to Europe. Ogtay Asadov praised Azerbaijani-French relations and the role of parliaments. On Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno Karabakh conflict, the speaker said this problem seriously impedes development of Azerbaijan and the whole region. Asadov expressed his confidence the international community would support resolution of the conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and on the basis of the international norms and principles.
Mrs. Dati praised reforms being implemented in Azerbaijan. She said she supports Azerbaijan`s stand in fair resolution of Karabakh conflict. Mrs. Dati said the European Parliament and France are keen to develop relations with Azerbaijan. The European Parliament and the government of France are ready to help Azerbaijan in solution of the problems.
The sides also exchanged views on prospects of development of relations between Azerbaijan and the European Parliament, interparliamentary ties and other issues of mutual interest.
