As part of his Azerbaijan tour, President of Bulgaria Georgi Parvanov on Tuesday met with a Speaker of the Milli Majlis (Azerbaijani Parliament) Ogtay Asadov. 
Speaking in the meeting, Ogtay Asadov praised current bilateral relations between two countries and emphasized that reciprocal visits by the Heads of State contribute to the development of cooperation. He also said a wide range of agreements that have been signed between two countries, will give an impetus to further strengthening of relations.
On Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict Azerbaijani Speaker underlined that Armenia ignores resolutions adopted by the UN and other international organizations. He expressed hope that friendly countries would increase their efforts in order to support settlement of the conflict on the basis of the norms and principles of international law.
"Azerbaijan integrates into Euro-Atlantic structures. However, the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a serious obstacle to this process. The aggressor country, Armenia, absolutely ignores resolutions on Nagorno Karabakh adopted by the UN and other international organizations. But despite all this, we hope to solve the conflict based on norms of the international law and within the framework of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity," the Azeri speaker said.
For his part, Bulgarian President said parliaments play very important role in the expansion and strengthening of cooperation between two countries.
"We see great and rapid development of your country every time we come in Azerbaijan. Baku has changed a lot. We are very pleased with this development," the Bulgarian President said.
Dwelling on the problem of Nagorno Karabakh the Bulgarian President said the dispute must find its settlement on the basis of norms and principles of international law, within the framework of the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
