On November 15th visiting Chairman of the House of Representatives of Belarusian Parliament Vladimir Andreychenko met with Speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament Ogtay Asadov.
Asadov pointed to existence of high-level relations between Azerbaijan and Belarus, adding more than 80 documents had been signed between the sides. He noted reciprocal visits by the Heads of State created ample opportunities to expand bilateral ties. Parliaments of the two countries also contribute to the development of relations and members of the parliaments effectively cooperate within international organizations.
Azeri Speaker briefed the Belarusian official on Azerbaijan`s dynamic development, country`s Euro-Atlantic integration, and stressed that Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a serious obstacle to the development of the country. He thanked the Belarusian government for its position and support of Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
In turn, Andreychenko highly praised Azerbaijan`s achievements. He noted that Azerbaijan is a main partner of Belarus in the South Caucasus and his country is interested in all-round development of relations with Azerbaijan. The Belarusian official also congratulated Azerbaijan on its election as non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and described it as a victory of the Azerbaijani diplomacy.
The sides exchanged views on political, economic, scientific, cultural relations and prospects of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries.
