Russia praises cooperation with Azerbaijan

Head of the Russian President`s Administration has praised his country`s cooperation with Azerbaijan.
"Russia praises the high level of cooperation with Azerbaijan," Sergei Naryshkin told his Azerbaijani counterpart Ramiz Mehdiyev in Moscow. The two presidents' chiefs of staff chaired a meeting of the organizing committee of the Baku International humanitarian forum to be held early October.
"We are extremely satisfied with the cooperation between our countries. Our countries enjoy the dynamically developing cooperation in the field of economy. Positions of Moscow and Baku on international issues are similar and sometimes coincide."
Naryshkin said: "Russia and Azerbaijan attach great importance to humanitarian issues. This is a very important sphere which gave birth to the Baku humanitarian forum, the idea which was supported by the presidents of our countries."
Mehdiyev said: "In Azerbaijan, we have a very sensitive and responsible attitude to this issue. This is a very serious event, and we have come with new concrete proposals."
"Now we have to materialize our plans. We believe the forum will be illustrative taking into account the fact that cooperation between Moscow and Baku develops not only in culture and economy, but also in the humanitarian field," he added.
"The forum will bring together many prominent people not only from Russia, but also from other world countries. Western countries, including European countries have already confirmed their participation in the event."
Mehdiyev added: "The forum enjoys an extremely great interest across the world. And it is a great pleasure that the forum takes place in Azerbaijan, which develops in all spheres. Azerbaijan is developing and prospering not only from the economic and cultural points of view. The Baku forum will confirm that Russia and Azerbaijan are bringing their humanitarian cooperation to the international level."
At the meeting of the forum`s organizing committee, Naryshkin said: "Our Moscow meeting is aimed at defining the level of preparedness and discussing the questions worked out by the two countries` working groups."
Mehdiyev said: "We`ve been preparing for this meeting for half a year, and Azerbaijan has a responsible attitude to the issue."
"Now the second preparation stage has become, and it is more responsible now. Today`s discussion will be the decisive - if not the final - moment in the preparation to the forum. This is an initiative of the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia, and it is what adds responsibility to the work of the working group," added Mehdiyev.
The organizing committee`s meeting was attended by head of the humanitarian policy department at the Azerbaijani President`s Administration Fatma Abdullazade, head of the political analysis and information provision department at the Azerbaijani President`s Administration Elnur Aslanov and Azerbaijan`s Ambassador in Moscow Polad Bulbuloghlu. Russia`s delegation included Special Presidential Representative for International Cultural Cooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, first deputy director general of ITAR-TASS Mikhail Gusman, representatives of the Foreign Ministry and CIS Intergovernmental Foundation for Humanitarian Cooperation.
