FM of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov met the delegation led by Miroslav Lajcak, head of the service of Foreign Affairs of the EU on European and Central Asian affairs.
In meeting, the current status of and prospects for the Azerbaijan-European Union relations were discussed. Noting intensification of cooperation between Azerbaijan and EU, the sides stressed importance of the "Eastern Partnership" program.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Mammadyarov highlighted on the process of negotiation. The Minister said the withdrawal of the occupant forces from the Azerbaijani territories, restoration of territorial integrity of country and return of the refugees and IDPs to their homelands are the major conditions to reach peace and stability in region.
Miroslav Lajcak expressed hope for quick resolution of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
In meeting also were focused other questions of mutual concern.
