President of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation Rustam Minnikhanov met here with the Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament (Milli Majlis) Ogtay Asadov.
Asadov spoke of history of the relations between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan, noting that the bilateral ties between the republics are quickly developing in versatile spheres. The joint inter-governmental commission fruitfully functions and expands. The current visit will promote deepening of the existing cooperation links, Asadov underlined.
Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament stressed necessity of widening of the contacts among the parliamentarians, intensification of reciprocal visits.
President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov expressed gratitude for hospitality to the state and people of Azerbaijan. He said: "It is my second visit to Azerbaijan. Your country develops quickly. Baku has changed completely and has become nicer. You are realizing great socio-economic programs. I am rather pleased with your achievements".
Tatarstan`s president expressed confidence for future development of bilateral ties and expansion of relations on international arena.
In the meeting also discussed were other questions of mutual interest.
