Deputy Prime Minister, Deputy Chairman and Executive Secretary of the New Azerbaijan Party Ali Ahmadov has hailed the results of a referendum to make amendments to the country` constitution, saying the voting was “fair, democratic and transparent”.

“The voting met requirements of the Election Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, democratic principles. High voter turnout was registered. This is evidenced by both observers of the New Azerbaijan Party, who monitored the voting in all polling stations, as well as by the results of the exit-polls.”

“The majority of eligible voters cast ballots. And the most important is that the voting took place in accordance with the Election Code, and without any frauds or irregularities,” he said.

The Deputy Prime Minister said the referendum was observed by local and international monitors.
