President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has inspected the expansion and construction work on highways in the territory of the Heydar Aliyev International Airport-Mardakan circle-Bilgah settlement.
The construction and expansion work on the Heydar Aliyev International Airport-Bilgah settlement highway and the Bilgah settlement-Sumgayit highway was launched in accordance with "The 2008-2013 extra action plan to improve the transport system in Baku", which was approved by the President in 2008.
The highways will make it easier for Baku residents to get to Bilgah, Nardaran, Kurdakhany, Pirshagy, Fatmayi, Goradil, Novkhany, Saray and Jorat settlements and Sumgayit.
The President told constructors to link the highways to the Baku-Russia and Baku-Shamakhy motorways.
