President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received credentials of new Norwegian ambassador Erling Skjonsberg on September 29th.
The President told the ambassador Azerbaijan attached particular emphasis to developing relations with Norway. The Head of State said Norway launched successful cooperation with Azerbaijan immediately after his country regained its independence.
Touching upon the Norwegian Statoil`s activity in Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev said there was a favorable investment climate in his country.
The Azerbaijani leader expressed confidence the ambassador's tenure in Baku would mark the development of the bilateral relations.
Ambassador Skjonsberg said it was a big honor for him to continue his diplomatic carrier in Azerbaijan.
He vowed to spare no efforts to contribute to preserving and expanding the friendly relations between Norway and Azerbaijan.
