President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan and President Nicholas Sarkozy of France, as well as the First Lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva took part at the groundbreaking ceremony on French Lyceum in Baku.
Participants of ceremony cheered the heads of state.
Prior to ceremony, the "Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the Republic of France on foundation of the French Lyceum" was signed. The document was signed by the foreign minister of Azerbaijan Elmar Mammadyarov and the minister for development cooperation of France Henri de Renkur.
The Presidents addressed the ceremony participants. Then, the heads of state viewed the stand with scheme of construction of future lyceum.
President Aliyev and President Sarkozy put the time capsule into the foundation. The Heads of State and Azerbaijan`s First Lady covered it with liquid concrete.
Then, President Sarkozy viewed the "Baku-White City" project model.
