President Ilham Aliyev met with local residents in Astara region on Friday.
The Head of State congratulated the residents on construction of the new road. The President said "the road, which meets international standards, links several villages, and therefore has great significance".
President Ilham Aliyev said he visited Astara region several times, noting various projects had been implemented here. The Head of State praised "successful" implementation of social and economic development program of regions, saying "its results are observed in Astara as well".
The Azerbaijani leader said volume of production in Astara increased in recent years, adding new enterprises started functioning, as well as new buildings for schools and kindergartens were constructed. Speaking about rapid economic development of Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev said the country saw increase in the wage and pension many times and promised it would happen again after some months.
On behalf of residents, Kazim Aliyev thanked President Ilham Aliyev. He praised construction of the new road, saying ten thousands of region residents would use it. He also praised efforts by Azerbaijan`s First Lady, UNESCO and ISESCO`s Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva to improve social welfare of the people.
