President of Azerbaijan attended the inauguration of highway between Astara and Bala Shakhagaj village, which has recently undergone major reconstruction. The President examined the photo stand featuring the status of the road before and after the repairs.
Addressing the inauguration, Mayor of Astara Mahir Guliyev said that the project was implemented in accordance with the President Ilham Aliyev`s April 21, 2010 order "on measures to speed up social and economic development of Astara region".
The Order allocated AZN 3.5 million from the President`s Reserve Fund to the Astara Executive Power to implement the project.
The road has a 6-meter-wide asphalt coat including a 2.6-meter-wide pavement on both sides. Also 3 bridges, 6 water junctions and 5 bus stations were constructed on the road.
The Head of State cut the red ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the highway.
