President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received Belgian ambassador Philippe Jottard who has completed his diplomatic mission in the country on Thursday.
The Head of State said relations between Azerbaijan and Belgium were developing successfully.
President Ilham Aliyev recalled his recent meeting with former Prime Minister of Belgium Herman van Rompuy and the discussions conducted with him on the European Union-Azerbaijan partnership.
The Head of State expressed confidence that relations between the two countries would develop successfully in the future, too.
President Ilham Aliyev also thanked the ambassador for his contribution to development of bilateral relationship between Azerbaijan and Belgium.
Ambassador Jottard, in turn, said there was great potential to develop both political and economic relations between Azerbaijan and Belgium. The diplomat also said his tenure in Azerbaijan coincided with interesting years.
