A photo exhibition has been organized on the occasion of the 95th birthday of national leader Heydar Aliyev outside headquarters of AZERTAC. The exhibition features unique photos from AZERTAC`s archive highlighting different periods of the national leader’s life and carrier.

AZERTAC`s staff first laid flowers at national leader Heydar Aliyev’s bust in the foyer of the building.

The ceremony outside the building started with a minute’s silence for the national leader.

Addressing the ceremony, AZERTAC Chairman of the Board Aslan Aslanov said that thanks to national leader Heydar Aliyev’s vision Azerbaijan developed its relations with foreign countries and leading international organizations.

“The national leader attached special importance to the development of the media. He wanted the Azerbaijani media integrate into the global media community.

Aslan Aslanov noted that the agency’s staff have made great strides in recent years. “AZERTAC is currently chairing two international media organizations - the News Agencies World Congress and Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA). These organizations bring together news agencies of 170 countries. Of course, all of these accomplishments have been possible due to the wise and farsighted policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev’s worthy successor President Ilham Aliyev.”

The event then featured a ceremony of awarding winners of a table games tournament marking the 95th anniversary of the national leader. The event participants then viewed the exhibition.
