The anniversary of the National Day of the Republic of Azerbaijan gives me the pleasant occasion to address to you the most sincere congratulations and my wishes of peace and prosperity for the Azerbaijani people.
The recent official visit I paid to Baku, in a very open atmosphere, reconfirmed the high level reached by the bilateral relations that went up to the implementation stage of the Strategic Partnership between our countries. In this respect, the Joint Action Plan for the implementation of the strategic partnership, signed on the occasion of the visit, represents a real road map aimed at putting into practice the agreed directions of action.
I wish to avail myself of this opportunity to salute the energy cooperation between Romania and the Republic of Azerbaijan, mainly in promoting the project of strategic importance for the energy security of the European Union, Nabucco, and the regional project - AGRI.
Looking forward to our future meeting that can take place on the occasion of your next visit to Bucharest, please accept, dear Mr. President, the assurance of my utmost consideration.
