Pope of Rome Benedict XVI considers relations of Vatican with Azerbaijan as a good example for other countries. 
"Vatican aspires to develop relations with the various states. And the relations of Vatican with Azerbaijan can serve as a positive example", Benedict XVI stated during his annual performance before representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited in Vatican.
The Pope cited as an example the bilateral agreement on the status of Catholic church in the country signed last year with Azerbaijan.
Then, during a meeting of the ambassador of Azerbaijan in France, simultaneously in the State of Vatican Elchin Amirbayov with the Pope, Benedict XVI once again underlined that Vatican attaches special significance to relations with Azerbaijan.
