“We trust in AZERTAC and look forward to its leading role as the president of the News Agencies World Congress and the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies,” VNA General Director Nguyen Duc Loi told AZERTAC in an exclusive interview.

Nguyen Duc Loi said the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and AZERTAC excellently organized the 5th News Agencies World Congress and OANA`s 16th General Assembly in Baku.

“The five sessions of the Congress featured diverse media topics of the time with contributions by outstanding speakers, who might be different in political viewpoints or culture. Those sessions confirmed our determination to preserve the core values of news agencies in the new situation.”

The VNA General Director said: “Attending the events brought me profound impression of the charming architectures, particularly the Heydar Aliyev Center where many sessions of the two events were conducted, and the harmonious combination of the cultural identities of the East and the West in Baku.”

“Our AZERTAC colleagues have played excellently the role of the host news agency in both events, drawing the participation of the world media as well as the consideration of UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova, who sent messages to media organisations leaders.”

“One more thing that I would like to refer to is the presence of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H. E. Ilham Aliyev at the opening session of the two events. Through his address, we were well informed of various achievements, international integration efforts as well as difficulties and challenges facing Azerbaijan,” Nguyen Duc Loi added.
