President Dmitry Medvedev of Russia awarded rector of Baku branch of the Lomonosov Moscow State University Professor Nargiz Pashayeva with order "Friendship" for her contribution to the Russia-Azerbaijan relations. Nargiz Pashayeva, in turn, thanked Russian President for high award and recognition of her activities.
The Order of Friendship is being awarded to foreign citizens for outstanding contribution in strengthening friendship and cooperation between nations and peoples, for outstanding achievements in the development of the economic and scientific potential of Russia, for the most productive rapprochement activities and for mutual enrichment of cultures, of nations and peoples, for fostering peace and friendly relations among nations.
The award ceremony was held at the President`s residence in Gorki, outside Moscow.
Member of board of directors of Gasprom OJSC Burckhardt Bergman (Germany), President of the US Trade Chamber in Russia Andrew Somers (the United States), Japan Tobacco International President and CEO Pierre de Labouchere (France) and others are among the recipients of the award.
