The 2nd meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Estonia has been held in Tallinn.
An Azerbaijani delegation led by Minister of Communications and High Technologies Ali Abbasov attended the event.
According to the press service of the Ministry, the Azerbaijani delegation held a number of meetings with Estonian officials and businessmen.
During the meeting with representatives of Estonian private sector, Abbasov said the Azerbaijani Government paid special importance to expansion of cooperation with Estonia.
The Azerbaijani delegation also visited the Stenbock House, where Ali Abbasov met Estonian Prime Minister Taavi Rõivas. The Premier informed Azerbaijani delegation on work done in the field of e-government.
During the Estonia trip, Ali Abbasov also met with rector of the Tallinn University of Technology and delivered a lecture to the students.
The Azerbaijani delegation visited “e-Estonia Showroom” and viewed a presentation of “Technopolis” Technological Park. They also visited “e-government Academy”.
The Embassy of Azerbaijan hosted a reception on the occasion of the 2nd meeting of the commission. The reception brought together former Estonian President Arnold Ruutel, members of the parliament, ministers and representatives of business and social organizations.
Azerbaijani ambassador Tofig Zulfugarov made opening remarks.
Speaking to the event, Minister Ali Abbasov informed the attendees on the activities of the commission and prospects for bilateral cooperation. He also made a presentation of AZPAD computer made in Azerbaijan, and presented it to former president Arnold Ruutel.
Estonian “Gracia” group performed Azerbaijani dances at the event.
