Azerbaijani delegation participates in the session of the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), which is to take place in the United Nations headquarters in New York, from July 2-9. 
The high-level segment will be held on the topic "Promoting productive capacity and decent work to eradicate poverty in the context of inclusive, sustainable and equitable economic growth at all levels for achieving the Millennium Development Goals".
UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, chairman of the General Assembly Nasir Abdulaziz Al-Nasser and President of ECOSOC Milos Koterec told of tasks assigned to member states and the organization for elimination of poverty.
Azerbaijani MP, Chairman of the public union "Eurasian International Research Institute" Ganira Pashayeva and head of the International Eurasia Press Fund Umud Rahimoglu held meetings with some officials of the organization, members of delegates of different countries and told of Azerbaijani realities.
Pashayeva delivered report on joint activity of the state structures and NGOs for achieving goals of development of millennium till 2015.
The International Eurasia Press Fund held an event on the topic "Meeting of donors and partners functioning in stable and radical development." Umud Rahimoglu made a speech at the event.
The participants were informed about achievements gained in cooperation of IEPF with UN agencies, donor organizations, and influential international structures.
IEPF held a presentation on promotion the cooperative and communal agricultural communities and measures on poverty elimination.
The event brought together head of Azerbaijan`s permanent representation under the UN Agshin Mehdiyev, MP Ganira Pashayeva, deputy head of department on problems of refugees, IDPs and migration of the Cabinet of Ministers Mohammed Maharramov, employees of Azerbaijani embassy in US and representatives of international organizations.
