A delegation led by President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev participated in the 6th Eurasian Forum "KAZERNERGY-2011" dedicated to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan`s independence in Astana.
Abdullayev informed participants on cooperation of oil companies of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and oil strategy of the country.
Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Kazakhstan Zakir Hashimov also attended the forum.
The forum brought together heads of state agencies of various countries and multinational energy corporations, along with world-renowned and reputable experts.
Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim Massimov made opening remarks at the forum.
EU Energy Commissioner Günther Oettinger, who attended the forum, has invited Kazakhstan to take part in the Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline project. He said that EU is interested in the construction of Trans-Caspian Gas Pipeline for the development of South Corridor.
The discussions focused on a steady model of development of oil and gas and energy sectors - adequate global system of energy efficiency, the new perspectives for oil and gas industry development: innovation and investing in the new technologies, the Industrial-Innovation Development of Kazakhstan: the growth of the local content and other issues.
