A delegation led by the Finance Minister of Azerbaijan Samir Sharifov visited Vietnam to attend 44th annual meeting of the board of governors of Asian Development Bank (ADB).
The participants discuss organization`s annual report for 2010, financial statements, management's report on internal control over financial reporting and independent auditors' report, budget for 2011, review of rules and regulations, place and date of forthcoming annual meetings, officers and procedures committee for 2011 and 2012 meeting and other issues.
Azeri delegation met with Haruhiko Kuroda, President of ADB as a part of the visit.
Kuroda noted close relations between the sides, stressing ADB`s readiness to assist economic diversification in Azerbaijan. He highly praised economic growth in Azerbaijan.
Azeri finance minister, in turn, outlined his country`s interest in cooperation with ADB. He briefed on Azerbaijani government`s social economic policy.
Sharifov has also met with Kiyoshi Kodera, vice president of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Ibrahim Canakci, undersecretary of Treasury of Turkey Prime Ministry. The sides discussed prospects of bilateral financial cooperation.
The Asian Development Bank is a regional development bank established in 1966 to facilitate economic development of countries in Asia. The bank admits the members of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific and non-regional developed countries. From 31 members at its establishment, ADB now has 67 members - of which 48 are from within Asia and the Pacific and 19 outside.
