As earlier reported, in the frame of the 54th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, the Azerbaijan pavilion was opened at the Palazzo Benzonda of the XV century near the famous Realto Bridge.
Azerbaijan`s First Lady, president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, UNESCO and ISESCO Goodwill Ambassador, MP Mehriban Aliyeva attended the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani pavilion.
Works of the Azeri artists aroused deep interest among the visitors, press service of the Azerbaijan Ministry of Culture said. Many art lovers said the modern Azeri art was at very high level, noting, it marches in parallel with the world art samples.
Works of Azeri artists named "Relational of Baku", impart reality of Azerbaijan`s capital, the feelings and vivid recollections connected with it. The artists show their love towards the Motherland even if they are far away from native land. Given that only two of them - Altay Sadigzade and Mikayil Abdurrahmanov live in Azerbaijan, it has great importance. Khanlar Gasimov and Aga Huseynov live in America, Zeygam Azizov - in the Great Britain, and Aydan Salahova - in Moscow. The Baku topics, oriental life, eternal interaction of the East and West are, nevertheless, always in focus of all of them.
The Exhibition is in success and the Azeri artists are at high level, Aydan Salahova told the journalists. Visit of Azerbaijan`s First Lady to the Exhibition was highly assessed by the Azeri artists.
In the first two days of the Exhibition, to last till September 30, the Azerbaijani pavilion was visited by over 5000 guests.
